1st 2nd 3rd 4th And so on…. You never want Corn or By-Products . These are un-digestible.

By-Products are what the slaughterhouse throws away- (Chicken-By-Products) for example are:  Beak-Feet and Intestines.

CORN is NOT digestible, it goes out the same way that it goes in.

You get more meat with a "Meal" like Chicken, than wet meat.

When "CHICKEN" is entered as the first ingredient, be WARNED, a Chicken Meal is 300% more protein source than wet chicken and when the ingredient "CHICKEN" is there, this can also be undisclosed BY-PRODUCTS, making up the entire chicken, beak, feet, feathers, etc.

Meat meal is wet meat with water and fat cooked out.

It is turned into a concentrated form of meat.

Wet meat is 80% water.

Soybean - used as a protein source in food instead of meat.

Corn Gluten - liquid part of corn that is digestible protein and it makes it tasty for the dog.

Rice or Ground Rice - easiest grain to digest- very good. Brown rice is much better.

Barley - digestible grain.

The first ingredient in our dog food is chicken meal. When "Chicken" is listed as a first ingredient, it contains about 80% water. After cooking, most of that moisture is lost, reducing the meat content to just a fraction of its original weight.

After processing, the "Chicken" would probably account for a smaller part of the total content of the finished product.

With the first ingredient as a chicken meal, chicken meal is considered a meat concentrate and contains nearly 300% more protein than fresh chicken.

The second ingredient is brown rice, which is a complex carbohydrate that is easily digested.

The third ingredient is chicken fat. Chicken fat is obtained from rendering chicken, a process similar to making soup in which the fat itself is skimmed from the surface of the liquid.

Chicken fat is high in linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid essential for life. Although it doesn’t sound very appetizing, chicken fat is actually a quality ingredient.

The forth ingredient is ground grain sorghum.
Sorghum (milo) is a starch that is gluten-free and boasts a smoother blood sugar behavior than other grains, sorghum is considered an acceptable non-meat ingredient.

The fifth ingredient is dried plain beet pulp which is an excellent source of fiber for intestinal health and blood sugar levels.

The sixth ingredient is oat groats, a whole grain, minimally processed form of oats. With the exception of their caloric content and the fact they’re also gluten free, oat groats are considered a good nutritional value.

The seventh ingredient includes menhaden fish meal, another protein-rich meat concentrate.

Menhaden are small ocean fish related to herring. They’re rich in protein and omega-3 fatty acids. What’s more, in their mid-depth habitat, menhaden are not exposed to mercury contamination as can be typical with deep water species.

Fish meal is typically obtained from the “clean, dried, ground tissue of undecomposed whole fish and fish cuttings” of commercial fish operations.

The eighth ingredient is egg product which is a dehydrated form of shell-free eggs. Eggs are easy to digest and have an exceptionally high biological value of 100% . They are an excellent source of protein.

The ninth ingredient is brewers dried yeast. Although it’s a by-product of the beer making process, this ingredient is rich in minerals and other healthy nutrients. It also helps to repel fleas and supports the immune system.

The tenth ingredient is natural flavor

The eleventh ingredient is whole ground flaxseed which is one of the best plant sources of rich omega 3 fatty acids and rich in soluble fiber.

The twelveth ingredient is lecithin which is used to improve a dog's skin and coat.

The thirteenth ingredient is canola oil for its favorable omega 3 content.

The fourteenth ingredient is chicken cartilage which is a source of both glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate — natural substances to support joint health.

The remaining ingredients all play an important role in rich nutrients and vitamins, antibiotics and probiotics for healthy easy digestion..

DL-Methionine is used to acidify urine in both dogs and cats.

Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product Dehydrated is a probiotic is the general term applied to a group of live bacteria that are normally found in the gastrointestinal tract of healthy dogs and are thought to have a beneficial effect on GI health. The two main beneficial bacteria for dogs are Lactobacillus acidophilus and Enterococcus faecium (previously known as Streptococcus faecium). These beneficial bacteria can out-compete some of the bad bacteria such as Escherichia coli (E. coli) and prevent them from colonizing in the GI tract. In addition, L. Acidophilus and E. Faecium produce lactic acid. Lactic acid, in turn, stimulates the development of L. Acidophilus and E. Faecium and increases acidity in the large intestine, which is unfavourable for some pathogenic bacteria and good for increased enzyme activity.

Probiotics are useful in improving digestion and are reputed to help improve immune function.
